Kevin V. Cato Had a Successful Time at Honda

Kevin V. Cato worked his way through school and eventually earned his engineering degree. He had his first start at a real career when he took a job with Honda in Anna, Ohio. This was an exciting time for Kevin V. Cato. He was finally able to put his education to good use and start a career that continues to be a success.

Kevin V. Cato started working at Honda in 1988 after spending five years with UPS as a third-shift pre-load manager. The change was huge, but Kevin V. Cato was ready for it and worked very hard when he started. Kevin V. Cato joined the Engineering Staff initially and was put to work solving problems that the manufacturing plant faced.

Early on in his career at Honda, Kevin V. Cato was making important contributions. He won the Engineer of the Year contest in 1990 because of a design and patent of an automated torque checker that eliminated the need for manual inspection of rotor hub assemblies. This design was well-liked and Kevin V. Cato was promoted in 1990 to the position of Engineering Coordinator.

As an engineering coordinator, Kevin V. Cato was in charge of designing and installing an automated unloading device to safely unload the rear suspension assemblies off of the production line. The work was challenging but Kevin V. Cato had a good team to accomplish it.

As he continued to succeed at Honda, Kevin V. Cato was promoted to the position of Equipment Service Coordinator in 1992. He worked in this position for two years as he developed a Total Preventative Maintenance Program.

After this, Kevin V. Cato was promoted to Assistant Manager of Suspension Assembly for his last years at Honda from 1994 to 1995. He had a great time working with the great people at Honda and still looks back on those first years of his career very fondly.
