Management Enjoyable for Kevin V. Cato

Kevin V. Cato has worked at a variety of corporations over the years. He got his start in management while working through school. Kevin V. Cato worked as the pre-load manager at UPS for the third shift. The hours were tough, but he liked the work and enjoyed the extra income while he was a student. He didn’t know at the time, but his career would end up being full of managerial positions.

Kevin V. Cato earned an engineering degree and started work for Honda in the mid 1980s. He moved to Ohio for the work, but didn’t mind it. He started off in the engineering staff of the manufacturing plant where he worked. By 1990 Kevin V. Cato became the Engineering Coordinator and worked with his staff to continually make improvements to Hondas operations at the plant. He enjoyed this position a great deal; working with people and helping them come together as a team to accomplish good things was always motivating for Kevin V. Cato.

Eventually Kevin V. Cato became the assistant manager of suspension assembly his last year at Honda. In this position he was responsible for a good deal of people and technology. But he still enjoyed the challenge the position brought with it every day.

At Danaher Corporation, Kevin V. Cato was hired on as a Manufacturing Manager. The work was a little similar to what he did at Honda, but also had a lot of new areas he had to learn about. Taking a turn from engineering, he was offered a position as the Marketing Manager of Asian and European Business for the company in 1997. He learned a great deal about marketing and management during the year he worked as marketing manager. It was a field he wasn’t totally comfortable with at first. Everything turned out well though. Kevin V. Cato is currently the director of supplier development at Caterpillar.
