Kevin V. Cato Is a Problem Solver

Kevin V. Cato started off his career solving problems. It’s something that comes to him naturally, but his education in engineering has made it a lot easier and more rewarding for him. One of his first long-term jobs was as a third-shift pre-load manager at UPS in Tennessee. He worked hard during this time and ran into daily problems that required fast solutions.

Kevin V. Cato earned his engineering degree and shortly after left his job at UPS to work at Honda of America in Anna, Ohio. He was hired onto the Engineering Staff at Honda and got to work solving all sorts of problems facing the manufacturing plant.

One of the proudest accomplishments during Kevin V. Cato’s early career was the year he won the Engineer of the Year contest. Kevin V. Cato won the contest because of his work in designing and patenting an automated torque checker, which eliminated the need for manual inspection of rotor hub assemblies. The device also established the means to determine a cross threaded bolt.

Because of the problem solving skills that Kevin V. Cato exhibited early on at Honda, he was quickly promoted to the position of Engineering Coordinator in 1990 after 2 years with the engineering staff. As time went on and Kevin V. Cato showed his aptitude at managing people and solving problems, he was promoted multiple times. He ended his career at Honda in 1995 with the position of Assistant Manager of Suspension Assembly.

That was only the beginning of a career full of problem solving and hard work. Kevin V. Cato has seen work at large companies like Danaher, Honeywell, and Caterpillar – his current employer. Kevin V. Cato loves to be put in positions where he has to learn a lot quickly in order to solve important
