Kevin V. Cato Enjoys Engineering

Kevin V. Cato has spent over 20 years working in the engineering field. He has learned a great deal since he first started as an engineering student and working the third-shift as a pre-load manager at a nearby UPS warehouse. His career is stable and he has a wide set of skills that he brings to any job or challenge he faces no matter what company he works for.

Kevin V. Cato loves engineering. He likes the field because of the vastness of work that is available for engineers. It’s a very specific skill that can apply to very many fields. Kevin V. Cato likes engineering because he enjoys being methodical and organized when it comes to addressing problems he faces in life and for whatever company he works for.

Kevin V. Cato has demonstrated this fondness for engineering multiple times throughout his career. One of those times he remembers fondly was with his first few years with Honda of America. There he won the Engineer of the Year Contest for his work solving a problem with rotor hub assembly inspections. He designed an automated torque checker, which made manual inspection of rotor hub assemblies unnecessary. This work helped Kevin V. Cato get promoted and launch a very successful career at Honda. He ended his time there as the Assistant Manager of Suspension Assembly.

That wasn’t the end of Kevin V. Cato’s engineering fun in the corporate world. He applied his engineering and managing skills at companies like Danaher Corporation, Honeywell, and currently with Caterpillar. At Caterpillar, Kevin V. Cato started working as a operations manager for the hydraulic and hydraulic systems division of the company for 2 years. He eventually became the general manager for this division and had to put his engineering skills to good use every day to ensure everything ran smoothly. If he didn’t have a love for engineering, Kevin V. Cato can’t imagine he would have been as successful as he has been.
